Sisters of the Dawn is Funded! 24 left for early bird + early bird poll!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Feb 03, 2026 at 10:49:02 AM

Howdy y'all!

OMG, you did it! I woke up to a notification that we hit our initial funding goal in under 24 hours! Thanks so much!

Our first stretch goal at $1000 is the Sisters of the Dawn sigil enamel pin. It'll be 1", hard enamel pin to match the Order of the Dark Wheel pin.

The pin will be the enamel pin translation of the above sigil - meaning that some of the nice texture above will have to disappear, but it'll be perfect to subtly show your coven membership to others.

Once we hit this goal, not only will it be a new add-on, but for everyone who backed at the Battle-Ready Bundle tier or higher will get one automatically included in their rewards! Exciting!

I also wanted to remind folks that you've got 24 hours left to get in on an early-bird pledge. Keep in mind your card won't be charged until February 27th when the campaign ends. The first 48 hours are the most important for any crowdfunding campaign, so to reward your early allegiance to the Sisters of the Dawn, you'll get a digital art pack with a ton of witches that you can use to inspire your characters in the game.

They'll be sized to print at both their original size I made them, as well as cropped/resized to 2" to fit in the profile box on the character sheets for easy printing.

I'll be creating more portraits for the digital art pack than this, but I wanted to give you a sense of the variety of styles and inspiration that I'll be sharing in the pack.

That said, I tend to lean towards a lot of supernatural elements in my witch illustrations - they might not make the most sense for anything besides Post-Fall adventures. Although I'm guessing maybe they mask as normies using light magic to keep up a glamour?

So let me know what kind of illustrations you prefer, and I'll start skewing that way. Normal, everyday women? Badass goth ladies? Monstrous women transformed by dark magic? Looser, more expressionistic painting? Traditional, realistic rendering? Cartoony?

You tell me - backers, hit up this poll to give me your thoughts, and/or drop your preferences in the comments!

Thanks so much again!
Cheers,
Rick

Sisters of the Dawn is Live!! Witches! Familiars! Fireballs!
about 1 month ago – Mon, Feb 02, 2026 at 10:21:35 AM

Howdy all!

The Sisters of the Dawn BackerKit campaign is now open!

If this is your first time hearing about it, this is a new tabletop role-playing game set in the world of the Order of the Dark Wheel - but this time instead of playing as the demon-worshipping cult (like in Cult Crafter), you'll be playing as the forces of good: the Sisters of the Dawn.

The Sisters of the Dawn are witches who navigate society stealthily, all while having awesome magical powers and talking familiars. By day, they might be a librarian, or a C-suite executive, or a sx worker, or a stay-at-home-mom. By night, they act as members of a coven strike team, slaying demons and throwing fireballs at cultists.

The game is made to be easy to pick up for casual one-shot gamers and players new to RPGs, but also with enough of a framework to build into epic multi-session campaigns.

If you're interested, you can see out more at the campaign page here.

Thanks and happy Monday!

PS - We've got stickers for returning backers and a digital art pack for all y'all early bird backers!

Which magic type do you resonate with the most? - Sisters of the Dawn coming soon
about 1 month ago – Thu, Jan 29, 2026 at 05:03:20 PM

Howdy all!

I wanted to talk a bit more about the magic system in Sisters of the Dawn, since most of the reason behind building this game was the idea of coming up with interesting magic spells.

In most D&D campaigns I've played, I usually like to role a wizard. While I'm the type to sacrifice charisma wholeheartedly to buff intelligence and thus spell power, ultimately the draw of playing a wizard was the ability to use magic.

In Sisters of the Dawn, each witch has a magic type that she naturally excels, and a type that she's naturally untalented in. That said, every witch has access to every magic type, meaning while you can still lean heavily towards a type of magic, just because you've decided to be an ice witch doesn't mean that you can't whip a fireball out when it's necessary.

Additionally, while these types of decisions should be made in discussion with your GM, if you want to specialize in an..off-beat type of magic, if you can explain how it works, I think you should go ahead and go for it.

I had a friend who really wanted to use cheese magic, and thus came up with the idea of blending primal magic to conjure milk and combining it with fire magic to help it make molten cheese that they'd fling at enemies.

So while I encourage you to literally make magic, here's the foundation that you can play with in the game.

There are seven aspects: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Psychic, Light, and Primal.

Hopefully the first elemental aspects are pretty straight forward (control and conjure the element). Psychic would fall into mind control, fooling perception, and psychic attacks. Light magic controls light, meaning lasers, data transmission, and invisibility are fair game. Finally, Primal is anything having to do with plants and animals, meaning you can grow a giant thorn bush, or summon wasps, or turn your fist into a tiger claw.

So given that, I've got a poll: what magic type are you most excited about using? Leave your justification in the comments!

Sisters of the Dawn are coming soon! Witches! Familiars! Magic!

Howdy y'all!

If you haven't heard yet, I'm coming out with a new roleplaying game as part of Zinetopia!

Sisters of the Dawn is a storytelling-heavy, rules-light tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) where you'll play a group of witches fighting against a demon cult set on destroying the world. I'm combining all my favorite things into one game - monsters, witches, and wish fulfilment of burning down the patriarchy via fireball, acid storm, or any type of weird magic you can come up with.

I'm kicking off the campaign in a few days (on Feb 2), so if you want to get notified of when it launches, be sure to follow the campaign here.

I just posted these covers on socials, and you might be asking "why two covers?"

The answer is that when exploring indie TTRPGs, I often don't like how player and GM stuff is often mixed together. And when you move up to something more robust like D&D, you get super expensive books that the players are required to buy.

I wanted to kill two birds with one stone, so I'm planning to distribute the print copies as a packet - where you get a copy of the GM Handbook, AND three copies of the slimmer Player Handbook.

Also, I've never had great access to a copy machine, so I'm making gummed pads of player sheets to make player creation easier. And of course, you'll get a printable version if you just want to back the PDF version as well.

Anyway, super excited to kick things off! Thanks again!

PS - for the first 48 hours, all backers will get a free digital illustration pack of a bunch of witches you can use as inspiration for your avatars. It'll be a bunch of different styles - from expressionist bog witches to weirder stuff to more simple illustrations.

PPS - All returning backers will get a free sigil sticker added to their orders. Thanks for coming back!
